Cholla Cactus Wood
The CHOLLA CACTUS WOOD, is an excellent addition to any freshwater aquarium with it's attractive appearance due to its hollow appearance.
Cholla Wood provides a good food source for biofilm that shrimp will feed on, similar to what leaves do. Cholla also provides hiding places for shrimp after they molt or when they are feeling vulnerable. Over time the wood will break down and disappear but it will take months for the thin pieces and longer for the thicker ones.
Also this type of cactus wood is very popular for people who keep pleco and hermit crabs.
